9th-graders, 10th-graders, 12th-graders on e-learning 3/2; juniors take SAT onsite

In accordance with the Indiana Department of Education’s new SAT policy and requirements, all Marion High School juniors will take the SAT on Thursday, March 2. Taking the SAT is a graduation requirement.

Due to the complexity of scheduling and monitoring 300 test takers on this day, only juniors students will attend onsite on Thursday, March 2. All freshman, sophomores, seniors, and life skills students will participate in an e-learning day.

Tech instructions

  • It is critical that all juniors bring their iPad, charger, and calculator to school on March 2 for testing.
  • All freshmen, sophomores, seniors, and life skills students should be sure to take their iPads home with them on Wednesday, March 1, in preparation for e-learning on Thursday.

E-learning schedule

  • 9th, 10th, 12th graders MUST attend school virtually between 2 and 3:55 p.m. through Google Meet to be counted present for each class. Teachers will be available for help during this time, if needed.
  • Life skills students will receive specific instructions from their teacher about e-learning requirements.

Onsite schedule (juniors only)

Buses will run regular pickup routes at regular times, so juniors who are typically bus riders will still have that option.

Lunch will be provided for juniors in the cafeteria as usual.

Testing schedule:

  • 8:45 a.m.: MHS juniors report to their testing rooms
  • 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.: Pre-administration session (required)
  • 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: testing (@ least 3.5 hours required)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Lunch provided in the cafeteria

Unlike the regular school day, once students have completed their testing, they are allowed to leave school for the day. For those juniors who cannot drive or be picked up, the school will resume a normal schedule after lunch until the regular bus arrival time at 3:55 p.m.

Marion Regional Career Center

Please note: Marion Regional Career Center will not have onsite classes Thursday, March 2.

Any MRCC students who are juniors at Marion High School will still need to attend onsite that day for the required test.

All other MRCC students should contact their teacher with questions.
