Dear Jonesboro Residents,
As you already know, the Jonesboro Water Department has been facing several issues over the last couple of months including low water pressure and discolored water.
First, we would like to apologize to you, the community, for these issues as it is our desire to provide the best service we can. Next, we would like to update you on the steps we are taking to correct the issues.
Currently we are bringing in specialists to help identify and create short term solutions for these issues. As a longer term solution, we are pursuing a grant that would allow us to make large scale, much needed improvements.
Unfortunately, it seems that as we move forward with correcting one issue, another pops up, as is often the situation with aging infrastructure and coupled with longer wait times to get parts, our progress is moving slowly.
As we continue to move forward working on these issues, you need to be aware that you may continue to have spots of low pressure or discolored water. Please understand that the discolored water will not harm you but it is not the best for washing clothing. If you do have discolored water, let it run until it clears prior to washing.
We will continue to utilize this Facebook page to keep the community up to date the best we can.
Thank you for your continued patience.
Mayor McNutt
