TU's White Honored as USTFCCCA National Women's Coach of the Year

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2022 collection of national awards on Tuesday evening, when Taylor women's cross country head coach, Quinn White, received his second National Coach-of-the-Year award in the last three years.

White last earned the nation's top coaching honor in 2020, after the TU men's cross country team won the first national championship in school history. In 2022, White led the Taylor women to the school's second national championship, though this time around the Trojans did so in unique fashion.

Driven by the leadership of coach White, the Taylor women's cross country team posted a perfect 133-0 record in 2022, winning each of their six races throughout the season. At the Ray Bullock Invite, the Trojans scored a perfect score of 15, as Taylor runners landed in each of the meet's top-five overall spots. In Louisville, White coached the Trojans to a team title while outpacing NCAA Division I and II, and top NAIA programs. Soon after, the Trojans secured their 10th-consecutive Crossroads League Championship, before achieving the second-most dominant win at a national championship in NAIA history.

Taylor posted a team score of 50 points at the 2022 NAIA National Championships, where the Trojans defeated the second-place team, Milligan, by a remarkable 127 points. Five Trojans finished in the top 20, while all seven of the TU runners earned All-American status by landing within the top-40 overall runners. Along the way to championship glory, Taylor posted the fastest team time in program history with a mark of 88:13.

White's runners rewrote much of the Taylor women's cross country record book throughout the 2022 campaign, including each of the top four team times in program history: 88:13; 88:59; 90:06; and 90:18. Four individual runners also planted themselves among the top-five 5k finishers in program history, including each of the three fastest times.

14 different runners posted top-20 overall finishes throughout Taylor's national championship season, combining for a total 47 finishes of 20th-or-better.

Coach White has now garnered Crossroads League, USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region, and USTFCCCA National Women's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year honors in 2022, all of which come in recognition of Taylor's most-dominant season performance in school history.
