COVID-19: Bivalent Boosters Offered at HCHD

COVID-19: Bivalent Boosters Offered at HCHD

The Huntington County Health Department now offers bivalent boosters for anyone who wants to stay up to date on their protection against COVID-19. The CDC says you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines if you have completed a primary vaccine series and received the most recent booster dose recommended for you.

What is a bivalent booster?

Much like the flu vaccine gets updated yearly based on changes in the flu virus, the COVID-19 has variations as well. The vaccine is updated to give protection against the Omicron variants that are currently most prevalent.

When can I get the new booster?

Boosters are an important part of protecting yourself against COVID-19. The CDC has an online tool to help determine when or if you or your child can get the available boosters.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Go online to vaccine.coronavirus.in.gov or call the Huntington County Health Department at (260) 358-4831 to schedule a booster appointment.
