City of Marion recently issued the following announcement.
Culligan
Culligan has been providing high quality products and services for commercial and residential needs in Marion since the 1940’s. The business was purchased in 1955 by Gus Parish and moved to its current location at 310 W. 1st Street on October 2nd, 1962. Before Culligan, the building had served as a church as well as office space for General Motors while they built the Marion Stamping Plant.
Verlin Wine began working at Culligan in 1962. In 1975, he and his wife, Martha, bought the business. Verlin’s son, Mitch, and his wife, Beth, bought the business from Verlin and Martha in 2011. Culligan has been owned by the Wine family for nearly 50 years.
“Our favorite thing about doing business in Marion is the people! We have been blessed to have the best customers! We have done business with many families & generations in Grant County,” said owner Beth Wine. She continued, “We foresee Culligan continuing to provide quality, dependable products and excellent customer service to our customers.”
Wine says they couldn’t do it without their team of employees. “Our employees are our biggest blessing, with many being here for over 20 years. Verlin will celebrate 60 years in the business in October and Mitch has 35. You can’t train someone to have the knowledge that our team has about the water here in Marion and the Grant County area.”
Culligan is proud to be a part of the community in Marion and try to help out in any way they can whenever possible. They support Gilead Ministries, Grant County Rescue Mission, Youth for Christ, Grant County 4H, area high school athletics, PAL Club, Hostess House, and many more causes. They feel it is important to give back to their community whenever possible.
Beth added, “We are very excited about the future for Marion, especially the new business growth in downtown!”
