Now Hiring: City of Huntington Seeks Directors for Summer Day Camp

Do you want to work with kids this summer while making a difference in your community? Huntington’s Summer Parks and Recreation for Kids Program (S.P.A.R.K.) is back for 2023! S.P.A.R.K. is a six week day camp program for kids.  In addition to sports and games, day campers will also create art projects and complete challenges.

More About the Position

S.P.A.R.K. Directors lead a six-week summer day camp at Huntington’s parks. The program begins Monday, June 5, and ends on Friday, July 14. (S.P.A.R.K. will not meet on June 19 or July 4.) The application window is now open for the 2023 season and interviews will begin immediately. Directors must attend a mandatory training on Wednesday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a paid position and all training will be compensated.

Park Programs Director Megan Thompson oversees S.P.A.R.K. and looks forward to all that the program will offer in 2023.

S.P.A.R.K. benefits the community in a variety of ways. The kids who participate get to spend time outdoors enjoying the parks system, playing sports and creating lifelong memories. Program Directors benefit from the job experience and build on their organizational, leadership, and youth engagement skills.
